The Environment
I am a practical environmentalist. I traveled to the Amazon and the rain forests in Costa Rica with my son and saw how they respect the environment without restricting commerce. We should follow their example and allow our open space areas to be enjoyed by our citizens. I am aware of and concerned about our limited water resources. I suggest incentives to conserve water and utilize technology like dual flush toilets. We need to encourage development to dedicate sensitive areas during the entitlement process and cluster development to encourage more open space.
This all can be accomplished without restricting property rights and damaging our local economy. We should follow the lead of countries that respect the environment without restricting commerce.
