LOWER TAXES THROUGH CONSOLIDATION OF SERVICES
As one of the founders of the Orange County Taxpayer Budget Review Board, I spent nine months studying waste and duplication of services in all 14 Orange County governments. Our report shows a potential savings of $1.126 billion a year through consolidation of services and other measures.
I studied best practices around the world and determined “regionalizing” services is the most efficient method to provide government services. This is similar to consolidation, but instead of one large government we “compartmentalize” services by region. This gives more power and control to the communities where people live and work.
This is not a consolidation of governments, rather the services they provide. Regionalization will eliminate waste and duplication of services. The result will be lower taxes now and for decades to come.
